Complex Psoriasis, Skin of Color Insights, and Acne Pearls Close the Conference

Sunday morning welcomed attendees for the final day of Elevate-Derm Summer 2025 with coffee in the familiar Jordanelle Pre-Function area. A symposium breakfast set the tone for a day focused on clinical nuance and culturally responsive care.

Dr. Megan Prouty, MD, launched the session with “Complex Psoriasis Cases: Navigating Diagnostic & Therapeutic Challenges,” exploring the subtleties of inverse psoriasis and the importance of identifying early signs of psoriatic arthritis to improve patient outcomes.

Buchi Neita.PA-C followed with two insightful talks on “The Art of Connection: Building Meaningful Rapport with Skin of Color Patients” and “Dermatologic Conditions in Skin of Color.” She emphasized the power of language and listening, reminding clinicians that shared decision-making and cultural sensitivity improve trust and treatment success.

As the morning progressed, attendees enjoyed a Sunday Mimosa Brunch before settling in for Shanna Miranti, PA-C’s session, “Lessons Learned in Acne and Rosacea.” Miranti shared practical approaches from her two decades of clinical practice for managing patients with acne and rosacea with care. She also emphasized the importance of the continuation of treatment for post-isotretinoin therapy patients.

Throughout the morning, the exhibit hall and networking spaces remained vibrant hubs for informal discussion and collaboration. The conference concluded on a high note, leaving attendees equipped with new knowledge, refined skills, and a sense of community that defines Elevate-Derm.
