How Can PeDRA Help You Achieve Your Practice and Professional Aspirations?
I spoke with PeDRA (Pediatric Dermatology Research Alliance) Executive Director, Mike
Siegel, about how PeDRA and ElevateDerm are working together to support dermatology APPs.
PeDRA’s goal is to improve the lives of children with skin disease by building community,
inspiring new ideas, and encouraging and sustaining active research. With nearly 800 members, they are hoping to increase affiliate members by collaborating with ElevateDerm. Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) are encouraged to join PeDRA at the Affiliate Membership level to unlock access to their Focused Study Groups. This membership usually costs $100 per year, but for Elevate-Derm conference attendees, the cost is $75 through the end of March 2024.
PeDRA Focused Study Groups meet virtually every 4-6 months and communicate via email, and through the PeDRA app. PeDRA members can opt to join any or all study groups and can participate as much or as little as they choose. The Focused Study Groups meet at the annual PeDRA meeting, which will be held in Phoenix, AZ October 24-26, 2024.
PeDRA members have access to Early Investigator (EI) Support. With roughly 60% of its members as students or investigators with fewer than seven years of clinical practice, PeDRA created EI Support to help these early-career individuals develop (or maintain) skills to keep
pediatric dermatology research going strong into the future.
PeDRA offers pages and pages of educational information for patients, families, and providers. From podcasts to webinars, PeDRA offers countless free virtual educational opportunities and events. Topics range from disease states, like alopecia and skin of color, to career-building skills, like “Reviewing and Publishing” and “Using Social Medical to Advance your Career.”
Look for more from this new partnership at ElevateDerm’s conferences in 2024.
