Passion Project - Justin Love

My Passion

Justin Love, MPAS, PA-C

“To pass on a legacy to the Advanced Practice Practitioner Dermatology community and leave it better than when I started. God willing, I would like to help foster a community that can grow together both professionally and personally.”

Some of us feel “called” to practice medicine. Ever since the day I had to save a child from near drowning while lifeguarding at a local pool, I knew I wanted to help others. The relationship that developed lasted for several summers after that, not just with the child but with his parents as well. Being able to practice medicine in the specialty of dermatology is a privilege. It has allowed me to develop relationships, like the child who was saved from the pool that day, and has transitioned to helping people who may feel like they too are drowning with the burden of skin conditions.

The relationships built over my career span beyond that of patients to other dermatology NPs and PAs who have become colleagues and friends who share the same passion. I remember being a new PA working in dermatology and looking to those who had gone before me for guidance about career choices and practicing medicine. I am grateful for those who helped pave the way for dermatology PAs and NPs that allow us to practice medicine to the full extent of our licenses and improve access to patient care. It is my appreciation for the field that has led me to the passion of growing relationships within the dermatology PA and NP community, not just professionally but personally as well. To be a part of something that cares about providing an excellent education environment and is just as invested in the professional and personal growth of other dermatology PAs and NPs is a privilege.

It is a passion and joy of mine to participate in the growth of those new to the dermatology specialty and continue to learn with those who are more seasoned within the specialty. God willing, I will be able to foster relationships within the dermatology NP and PA community, allowing us to develop both professionally and personally that will last long after I am done practicing medicine and can leave the profession better than when I started.
